About Medica Afghanistan:
Background: Medica Afghanistan is a national non-governmental, non-profit, and non-sectarian Afghan women’s organization. The purpose of the organization is to support women and girls affected by war and all other types of violence. It strives to improve the quality of women’s lives through direct psychosocial and legal services, while also raising awareness and building capacity in the fields of health, education and law, and advocating for local and national policies to eliminate violence against women.
Duties and responsibilities:
Medica Afghanistan (MA) focuses on improving the lives of women by providing direct legal aid, psychosocial counseling, and public advocacy for women and girls subjected to gender based violence in the midst of war. While the organization is fully Afghan women-led, implemented, run in all activities, Medica’s effective communication strategy is needed to be streamlined into all program and procedures of Medica Afghanistan to help propagate in the smooth achievement of the mission objective.
Medica Afghanistan, being a local NGO, possess strategic position amongst local organizations to advocate for the cause of victims of violence with government, non-government, donors, media, and local organizations and at international platforms. At the same time, pertaining to our strategic plan achievements, we need to know what to speak and convey where and to whom, how? To respond to the former questions, MA is looking for a communication strategy that help us in communicating effectively and meet core organizational objectives. Communication strategy is needed to show how effective MA’s individual employees and as an organization, our communication can:
1.Help in achieving our organizational objectives
2.Ensure our effective engagement with different stakeholders at different levels
3.Demonstrate the impact of our work and the change it contribute to peoples’ lives in the long run
4.Guarantee peoples’ understanding what we do and deliver
5.Contribute to changed behavior and perception change against violence to women and girls
6.Influence our straight forward and righteous advocacy for policy change at decision making level
